Tensile 1 is a version of our Valhalla membrane structure.

GC2000 - Gatecrasher dance music event, Sheffield UK, with up to 32,000 people in the structure at any one time.

Side walls are 8 metres (25 feet) high at the highest point and 6 metres (20 feet) high at the lowest point. (photo : Dennis Postle)

Up to 20,000 kilogram's (44,000 pounds) can be suspended from each pair of masts, allowing virtually any amount of scenery, lights, or effects to be flown.

As the initial contract was for twenty masts, or a sixteen pole structure with two spare ends, or two six pole and one eight pole structure, the above table shows that the total contract was for 219,067 square feet, or 20,352 square metres, or 5.03 acres.
This increases by 12.5 metres, to the main guys, all round.
This is believed to be a record for a portable structure of any kind.
